Sum Nung was the only Diciple of Yuan Kay Shan , who was one of the best figters and wing chun masters at the time . First Sum Nung teacher was Cheung Bo and from him he learned san sik method , later he completed the system from Yuan Kai San . Sum Nung was born in Peru , 1926. He came to China to visit Family as a child. During his visit, Japan was attacking China The communication between overseas and China was terminated. Sum Nung lost contact with his parents and he staid with his grandmother . At the age of 12 he started to work at the restaurant , where Cheug Bo worked as a Dim Sum chef . He was Cheung Bo student for couple years .In 1941, Cheung Bo introduced Sum Nung to Yuen Kay Shan, and Sum Nung became Yuen’s only disciple. Sum Nung had a great reputation for the quality of his Wing Chun , and he did a lot for popularization of Wing Chun in the south
He had many students , such as: Sum Jee, Cheung Chut (the son of Cheung Bo), Kwok Jin Fen, Leung King-Chiu (Leung Dai Chiu), Dong Chuen Kam, Ngo Lui Kay, Kwok Wah Ping, Lee Chi Yiu, Wong Wah (Tom Wong).Sum Nung passed away in November
