My old source of Jow looks to be out of business, but before I start a search for a suitable alternative, I wanted to check here to see if anyone knew what is actually happening with them. The website is:

So anyone know if this is a dead company, still dormant, or what's going on with them? Are orders still being filled? Enquiring minds want to know!

My old source of Jow looks to be out of business....

I haven't looked them up in a very long time. A bulk batch of jow lasts many years. Even longer now that I have given up hand conditioning ...getting on towards 70 now and don't want to make my achy joints worse.

The real problem with jows is that they are like old time patent medicines. The recipes are all proprietary so typically you can't re-make them yourself to exactly the same specifications. I'm having the same problem with some of the commercial ceramic glazes I used to use. Now I'm trying to figure out how to mix alternatives that will work.

One difference between jows in CMA training and glazes in my claywork is that with glazes you don't have a placebo effect. You either get the visual result you want, or not! With jows in the martial arts, the evidence is much more subjective.

I thought Dit Da Joe was to soothe achy joints?

So there’s no consistency in the recipe? Each brand is slightly different? Imagine that….

Years ago, I once went into a traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy to ask about them making me a fresh batch of DDJ. They had never heard of it!
