Peter F. Drucker, revered as the father of modern management for his numerous books and articles stressing innovation, entrepreneurship and strategies for dealing with a changing world, died Friday. He was 95.

Drucker died of natural causes at his home in Claremont, east of Los Angeles, said Bryan Schneider, a spokesman for Claremont Graduate University, where Drucker taught.

I taught a course at CGU (then CGS) while he was there, but never met him. I have seen the school that is named after him there. That's something--named after him in his own lifetime.

His contribution was immense! He was in part responsible for the repair of the Japanese economy after WW2. He pioneered TQM - Total Quality Management, which is still used effectively today. I just completed a week long Six Sigma workshop at work which, whether stated or not, drew largely upon his work.

Note to Mods.: perhaps this belongs in the Remembrance section?

ON EDIT: dupl. post due to time-out. Can you delete one?
