I went to a seminar this year & met a real live Ninja.
He was down to earth & had a lot of knowledge.
He said That Most of what we here is not true.
He said that The Nija Were made up of Family's.
There is a lot of Movies that make them out to be spy's
Murder's & even Super Humans.
I respect what this Guy had to say & show
But for the life of me i cant remember his name.
It was at Bill Adams School.
The Ninja must have been verry special
Cause we are still trying to find out about them

As people have mentioned there are some websites out there with plenty of info.
As for opinions..........I have met a lot of people in Japan that think it is a joke.......I know some people that study it............ one of my friends of more than 20 years is a yudansha student of Hatsumi Masaki, current Head of the Bujinkan.
If you were looking to start a flame war you picked a good topic as the feelings run very strong on both sides.

Ok, one more time for the "linguistically impaired".
My comment above was not asking for a flame war but stating that the topic of Ninja/Ninjutsu is/has/usually ends up in heated discussion or flame wars. This is due to the fact that people that study Ninjutsu feel very strongly about their art and also due to that fact that Ninjutsu has had so much fiction put out in movies and books many people have gotten the wrong idea about it and therefore do not understand it which leads to the above mentioned "flame war" ....I am not sure if I can make it any more basic than that.
