Yeah, it's gotten to near SPECTRE type criminality where Colombian drug lords are now using semi-submersibles to transport their drugs (primarily cocaine) to the U.S.
The video is about 35-40 minutes long but worth watching.

My impressions and thoughts on the program are... how can the U.S. Navy help in the detection of these subs? Could the U.S. go to the expense of putting up SOSUS nets along potential smuggling routes? How about at the mouths of the rivers which the subs come out?

Watching the DEA/Colombian investigate a small village and seeing how the locals hesitantly or not speak of the Narcos made me think of South Vietnamese villagers fearful of Vietcong reprisals during THAT war. It's almost the same thing. River gun-boats and jungle humping to find the enemy's encampment. The use of helos and helo gunships for cover.

The end of the program gave a nice little scary thought... rumors of the drug-lords working with Al-Quadea terrorists and the possibility of them smuggling something other than drugs into the country.
