This is my first post here.

I've been training a few months now in private lessons with a Muay Thai coach who has had both pro MT and boxing matches. Despite his experience he does not know allot of the traditional history and other aspects of the art.

Could anyone please suggest any good resources for the history and tradition of the art?

Thanks

Just off the top of my head, this is a good link:

http://www.thaiboxing.com/history.php

That'll give you a decent introduction. There's 'history of muay thai' pages on most muay thai websites, and you'll get a good idea just by piecing it together from those. Apart from that, go to your local bookshop and have a look for some books on Thai culture. It's Thailand's national sport and a big part of their culture so I'm sure any credible book will have a good section on muay thai.

Good luck!

The USMTA website has info on history and so does the world muay thai council (WMC) website.
