Ok, I'm not posting this because he's British but because he's an inspiration for all of us who are older and for all of those who will be older!
We've been watching fantastic things at the Olympics, it's lived up to it's higher, faster, stronger tagline. It's been thrilling, jaw dropping and amazing. We've marvelled at fit young athletes doing their countries proud but this individual gold medal for show jumping just shows that just because you are older ( and have to mount your horse using a step ladder because you've had a hip replacement!) you aren't past it. Well done Nick for overcoming physical problems, being older than any of the others and still coming out on top! A real hero of the Games.

Did you guys hear about Oksana Chusovitina? 41 years old and competing as a gymnast in the Olympics. I didn't see her in the qualifiers, but she was highlighted during the event finals for the vault, in a sport where it's a rare athlete who is over 25 and competing, much less at such a high level.
