Today in History Dec. 8th 1980: An icon was shot and killed for a stupid reason. The world mourned the loss and his messages.
Thank you John for every song, every shout for love and peace.
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

John Lennon revolutionized music. People love the beatles here in El Sal

His lyrics were strong and thought-provoking. He is missed.

He was a great man and an awsome song writer. I imagine the World would be a better place today had he not been taken from us.

Love is all we need.
- john

I can't believe he's been gone for 24 years!!

I can remember exactly where I was when I heard that he'd been shot (I was doing homework in my room & heard Howard Cosell annouce it on TV)....my parents could tell how much his death affected me, & I guess that's why I got everything I wanted for Christmas, including the "Double Fantasy" album. Although I love all of the Beatles' albums (as well as John's other solo stuff), that particular album will always be extra special to me because it was the last one that was released when he was alive.

Rest in Peace, John.

I recall being in college and getting up in the AM for class and turned on the radio, ahh nice, Instant Karma was playing. As I busied myself for the day I heard the announcer at the end of the song say: "Once again, John Lennon was shot and killed by an unknown gunman last night in New York Ci...." I forgot the rest because I found myself on my knees, stunned and later on crying. I didn't go to class that day and spent the whole afternoon/evening listening to everything that I had of the Beatles and his solo work.
Double Fantasy was a great album. Lot of love in that one.
Woman

(For the other half of the sky)

Woman I can hardly express
My mixed emotions at my thoughtlessness
After all I'm forever in your debt
And woman I will try to express
My inner feelings and thankfulness
For showing me the meaning of success

Ooh, well, well
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Ooh, well, well
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo

Woman I know you understand
The little child inside of the man
Please remember my life is in your hands
And woman hold me close to your heart
However distant don't keep us apart
After all it is written in the stars

Ooh, well, well
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Ooh, well, well
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
Well

Woman please let me explain
I never meant to cause you sorrow or pain
So let me tell you again and again and again

I love you, yeah, yeah
Now and forever
I love you, yeah, yeah
Now and forever
I love you, yeah, yeah
Now and forever
I love you, yeah, yeah
