Hwarang info?

I'm looking for good reliable historical information on the Hwarang as well as pictures and artifacts close to the period, any help would be appreciated.

Your best bet is to actually read Korean history books on this manner. They will help you decipher fact from martial art hype. Many of them will mentioned the Hwarang and some of their deeds, but there are no specific historically accurate books written on the subject. Some books I would suggest are Samguk Yusa, Korea History Old and New, Myths and Legends from Korea.
