I was recently reading some articles on the old greek art of pankration.

In this article it shows a hand position where the elbow is held high and the hand is held by the ear palm facing out. It said it was used to act as a high guard against attacks to the head.

My question is, do any of the styles you study use a position similiar to this? And if so what style is it that you learned it in? Also, how have you trained to use it and what drills did you use? Also, have you ever used it outside of class?
