I thought we had a thread for this already, but I couldn't find it, so here's a new one.
Early in my training (I think I was about 7th or 8th kyu), I attended a seminar taught by Andrew Young. Just as the seminar started, Andrew turned and asked if I could assist him. I must have looked like Foghorn Leghorn as I strutted onto the mat. Clearly this high-ranking instructor had recognized my natural talent with just a glance.
Imagine my chagrin when I found he just needed someone to lean on so he could demonstrate a stretching exercise... :lol:
