Hi all, after readin a recent post i was wondering at what age do you graduate highschool in the US and where do you go after that if you stay in education?

E.g.

• In the UK GCSEs are taken in high school at the age of 16 marking the end compulsory education.
• 2 further years may taken either at college (usually local) or in a 6th form whereby you stay in highschool (but less formally e,g, no uniforms), don't know how often high schools offer 6th forms but mine being rural kinda had to. In this period 3-4 "A level" subjects are taken.
• Bsc or BA at university in one subject or as combined two subject degree, 3-4 years. After graduating university post grad degree may be taken e.g. master degree then Phd.(doctorate).

So how does the US (or any other country for that matter) work?

you have to be in school till your 16 ( then you can drop out with out leagle trouble)f you stay in school then you have 2 more years till you graduate after graduation you can go on to college and some even take college classes in high school

Usually Kindergarten plus 12 grades, ending at 18. After that, 2 years (associate's degree) or 4 years (B.A./B.S.) of college if desired, then grad./professional school if desired.
