11-18-2009 07:05 PM:The ten-fight card at WEC 44 is right around the corner in Las Vegas at The Palms in The Pearl. Join Cagewriter all evening long starting at 6:30 p.m. for updates of the non-televised and Versus bouts.

On the betting front, Mike Brown versus Jose Aldo is catching action. Brown opened the day as a slight favorite at minus-125. Aldo action has turned the fight into pick'em. Some Leonard Garcia action has also turned his fight against Manny Gamburyan into a pick'em. The biggest favorite on the card is Cub Swanson at minus-280 against John Franchi.

Cagewriter picked Brown in the WEC media poll. He's probably the best value on the board against the smaller Aldo. There also some value on wrestlers Shane Roller (+115) and L.C. Davis (+140). Roller, a former Oklahoma State grappler, may be able to control the pace and steal minutes from Danny Castillo. Davis, a veteran of Affliction, is fighting unbeaten Diego Nunes.
