I've been following this season's matches. There are eight teams representing eight cities or states throughout the U.S. from east to west.

The fights are on a large round mat that tapers up on the outer edge. Fights are 3minutes long with specific rules and penalties.

That's right, no groundfighting and the pace is pushed hard!

Pat Smith recently stepped in for the Oklahoma Enforcers at 44yrs old and looking much heavier than his ufc debut back in the 90's where he had some good success.

Raymond Daniels for L.A. is awesome too!

I just wanted to hear your thoughts or comments on the WCL?

Anyone follow the WCL?

Chuck Norris is usually at the events.

I've got the Season 1 dvds at home.

Personally i prefer to watch UFC style battles - as i find the introduction of ground work facinating.

The WCL though is awesome - the core strength of those guys is amazing. And the flexibility is just.......alright, am attempting to not use the word amazing....alright, it's just amazing.

I'm not really sure about the passivity rule though - i understand the intent (to keep the match moving at a quick pace) however it also doesn't allow for a fighter to set up.

Also i'm not sure why low kicks are not allowed - personally i love the inside shin kick (if it doesn't buckle the leg it gets their attention away from my hands).

Anyway - totally enjoyable fights and well worth watching.
