The Art of War, Deadly Karate blows are both great books. Now that might be strikes instead of blows and I'm not sure who the author is.

I am reading BJJ, Theory and Technique by Royler and Renzo Gracie. The beginning section has some pretty decent history and theory in it. Might be worth picking up
