LONG BEACH, Wash. — A Washington State Patrol trooper survived an attempted execution early Saturday morning, adding to law-enforcement fears that they are being targeted for violence.

I'll echo the WTF.

I haven't had a chance to talk to the WASP in our class about all of this - it appears he's stepped up his training, and he's also an instructor for law enforcement out here (sorry, don't know the details, don't go to Yacolt as often as I'd like to).

This is disturbing to say the least.

Here's hoping the best for Trooper Johnson - justice and recovery.
