anyone ever heard of American Combat Kenpo??

I have a friend who got to Brown Belt in a more traditional style Karate, she wanted to switch, joined another school, took a test, and is now 2nd Black in ACK...wtf???

Never heard of it. The guy does have many titles/credentials though. Of course, that is something that can always be inflated.

Don't know if this is the same stuff, but a while back on eBay, someone was offering a distance course in Combat Kenpo (derived from Dragon Kenpo) in which you received your Nidan when you bought the course! No personal testing, no video testing, no nothing. They just took it for granted that you'd be good enough for your second.
The cost was $49.99 (marked down from $99.99 - What A Bargain!)
I hope that whoever gets this stuff places their honorable rank:barf: where it belongs: on the shelf next to their real estate title to property on the moon.
