This came up in response to a pretty unusual Sumo bout where the match was stopped not by the Gyoji 行司, or ref, but one of the officials sitting below the dohyo. The official thought the Yokozuna's foot went over the border rope despite nearly everyone else thinking otherwise. Anyway official playback was that he stayed in bounds but in the rematch the challenger Goeido got crushed.
