tsk tsk tsk, making people think again! ;)

There is no single best kick. Not ever.

For SD purposes the kick you can get off and hit the target with.

for sparring the kick (combination) that keeps things fresh.

Location is more important IMHO than the type of kick: In an SD situation a kick to the leg, be it knee or the pressure points right above it, are probably more effective than a kick higher, to the stomach or so.

In sparring if you always go to the same target, it won't be long before you won't hit anything anymore.

Which kick do you consider to be the most dangerous kick in all of TKD and why?
The back spinning kick (spinning hook). Because it hits the head with the most force and produces the most KO's

Which kick do you see being the best kick for SD?
The kick that works. But if I had to pick I would say the front kick to the groin or the side kick to the knee.

Which kick is best suited in point sparing?
The side kick. I see this kick used the most and it provides distance as not to be countered.

Which kick is best suited for Olympic sparing?
Well the round house is the kick used most often as this is due to the scoring areas.

Which kick is best suited in any given stituation?
I think all kicks can be used in any situation but the one kick that just about everyone can do or perform in any situation is the push kick. It is easy to do and most everyone can do it.

.

1.-The most dangerouns kick would be for me the spining hook kick or de spining back kick.
2.-The low kick either the front of the roundhouse kick.
3.-The roundhouse kick to the mid section.
4.-the same as the point 3.
5.-the side kick.

Which kick do you consider to be the most dangerous kick in all of TKD and why? Straight Leg Kick! Have you ever taken a straight kick with power to the bottom of your jaw?

Which kick do you see being the best kick for SD? This would have to be a front snap kick aggressivley

Which kick is best suited in point sparing? Roundhouse because it is easy to score with

Which kick is best suited for Olympic sparing? jump front kick, or roundhouse

Which kick is best suited in any given stituation? Spinning hook kick! I love this kick because it is a blind kick...comes out of nowwhere, so your opponant does not have time to react. I definantly do mean for a beginner but for someone with speed and accuracy enough to land.

I dunno the answers to those questions, but I do love how powerful a humble, but well executed sidekick can be.

Like Jeremy Clarkson would say, "POWEEEERRRRR!!!!"

The front kick. It's quick, powerful and effective, the least risky, and the simplest to execute.

Which kick do you see being the best kick for SD?
Front kick. See above.

Which kick is best suited in point sparing? Really depends on your opponent and yourself. When I pointed sparred in my youth the lead leg roundhouse scored the most points for me, but I wouldn't bet my life on that tech in a real fight.

Which kick is best suited for Olympic sparing?
???

Which kick is best suited in any given stituation?
Front kick.

For Kickee: Spin back hook kick (not that flat footed slap with the bottom of the foot... straight heel all the way)... hella snap and deadly if connects to the head properly...temple, jaw,neck...
For Kicker: 540. knees.... ouch

Which kick do you see being the best kick for SD?
Front snap kick to chin or throat.

Which kick is best suited in point sparing?
Front leg side kick to the belt line... quick and stops them when they come in... and its a point!

Which kick is best suited for Olympic sparing?
Duhhh... round house
....or rapid multiple (2/3/4) alternating roundhouse ( so many different names... tried to describe it)

Which kick is best suited in any given stituation?
9MM or 40 cal. best kick that will stop anyone.

Hhhmmmm....Thanks for this question Terry. Each person’s answers really tell a lot about each person. It also tells a lot about their training and styles.

I find this very interesting indeed.

Thanks again.

The most important kick is the one just staring you in the face.

I agree there is a long list of "depends" that determines what the best kick is. But if I had to pick:

• I'm assuming the first question means "most dangerous to the person being kicked" :) I think the spinning heel, for the same reason a baseball bat to the head is dangerous.

• I think the front kick is the best kick for self defense. Easy to do in most clothing and can be done powerfully from an upright position with hands ready to block and strike.

• Best point sparring would probably be arc kick/roundhouse. Same answer for olympic style.

•*Best suited for ANY given situation? Tough call.. but I'd go with front kick :)
