so what are your ideas of good shoes for combat or combat related activities? im thinking something like the 511 xprt or certain treking boots.
steel toed? no steel toe?
what is the most badass funky boot or shoe that there is? like those magnum spider boots....they look very quick and nimble.

of course more important than the footwear, are the feet that need to be trained. but then once trained, what would be a good selection in your opinion?

For comfort and durability, I like the Hi Tek Magnums in Steel Toe. (Because I drop things)

I like what I wear on a daily bases. I am comfortable in them and they work well for kicking and protecting my feet.

First off, I feel unlike traditional martial arts where you are barefooted, well times change. We don't live in huts where we take our shoes off all the time nor work barefooted.

That is why I always wear shoes when working out.

I have found light but very durable is the key. If they are heavy you can get hyperextension when you kick hard in practice.

I use Centruy shoes (expensive ones, not the cheep ones) but there are plenty of others. For the walk around shoe get top fight LIGHT running shoes. Pay the +100 bucks.

Then if the gong sounds (that is it's for real) you will not only fight as you train, but you will be able to move just as you train!

I personally like any shoe that is light and comforting.

I want a shoe that does not weigh me down in my movement.

I find any well rounded well fitted sneaker does well.

Walmart has them for $10

I have a pair of Redwing composite toe boots. much lighter than the steel toes and honestly a bit more durable. I had to retire my Hi-Tek when one of the steel parts rusted and came loose.
