While out walking, I found these cairns near a rocky ledge. Presumably they were there to warn hikers or wanderers of the 5 or so foot drop to street level below. What I thought was interesting was how someone -- or some people -- had painstakingly assembled the cairns in to a Pagoda-type shape.

Serene...and haunting...at the same time. I actually passed the house, and then decided to turn around and drive back to photograph it, after my mind had fully grasped the image. The perspective is unusual too...it is flatter than what I normally do. Almost like something a young child would draw.

It's a modest Cape home with a generously pitched roof...not unusual for the area. But a closer look reveals no visible driveway. No visible means of egress. No chimney. No signs of life, other than the impeccably manicured grounds.
