Yeah! I do it on occasion when I can remember to. I'm trying to do it along with more jogging to increase my endurance/stamina. It's great cardio, and helps big time with sparring making you able to recover quicker and have longer lasting endurance.
Now as to what I do, I jump on both feet or one at a time and sometimes reverse the rope circuit.
its an exercise almost ALL fighters partake in!!! it is great for stamina and cardio on great levels. you definately can't go wrong with it.
I am 38yrs old and can still out skip a 10yr old
I do basic 2 footed and 1 footed skipping...thats about it for me...but there is lots more you can do.
I once saw a guy at fitness seminar who ONLY skipped rope...his resting heart rate was 32 bpm! he was 34!
Not to top that, but there is a guy who can jump rope for 10 minutes straight and he's in the guiness book of world record or ripley's. He doesn't even brake a sweat. LOL.
