Please Watch Out For This

From the Air Force, whom I work for:

1. An email containing illegal content is being propagated across the internet. All MAJCOMs are directed to immediately filter out the file at all mail relays and/or exchange servers. The file name is “DC0034.gif” and it can be disseminated as an attachment or embedded in an e-mail. Inform all users that if they receive this email, immediately delete it. It contains child pornography.

2. Note: The file has been spread via e-mail messages with a variety of subject lines, one of which was “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” The subject line will vary so filter by file name, not subject line.

Is this attachment solely an undirable picture or does it also contain a virus or other malevolent technical entity?

It would appear from the info provided that the attatchment is an image as described. No motivation was given. No other menace was stated. Due to the nature of the image, I've set up a filter on my home accounts as well.
