@J. Pickard invited several instructors from MT and elsewhere to a Multi-Style Workshop at New Heights Martial Arts in Zeeland, Michigan on Saturday April 6, 2024.

I was privileged to be able to attend and teach in the presence of some real masters of their styles, including Josh Pickard, Tony Dismukes, Bong Jornales, and Rich Parsons.

The workshop was well-attended, and those who were able to attend were uniformly talented, respectful, polite, attentive, and they tried really hard to learn all the techniques presented. It really made our jobs as instructors easier.

I represented Isshinryu Karate, teaching the 'soft techniques' from our style. I brought a dojomate and close friend of mine, Dale Mitchell, with me. Rich Parsons taught Philippine knife techniques, Bong Jornales taught his form of Arnis from the Jornales System, Tony Dismukes taught Jiu-Jitsu, and Josh Pickard taught Tae Kwon Do. It was a full day of training!

I was able to grab a few photos on my phone when I wasn't teaching myself. I hope you find them enjoyable.

This was a lot of fun! I am super grateful to all of the instructors who helped make this year's event possible! Unfortunately I got so caught up in participating that I forgot to get pictures myself, so thanks to Sensei Mattocks for taking these.
