I am putting this in the Study because it is not specifically related to Martial Arts and I don't want the topic to drift.

This is a link to "all known logical fallacies" as it says on the website. This may be true, I can't confirm it right now. I may reproduce the full list and explanations here later but I don't have time now. I am very likely going to be referring to this post/list/topic frequently in the future. I hope others find it useful as well.

At an OP in view of your house...
I've seen stuff like that before. I'll go through it more thoroughly, but at a glance this seems pretty good. I know there are a lot more though! I like these, as I have quite a few jammed in my head for the purposes of logically arguing w/ people. :D

I wish more people studied these...we'd all argue more rationally on the internet.

There are a bunch of sites like this out there. This one is good.

A book, "Logic and Mr. Limbaugh" is a pretty good introduction to this sort of stuff. It slams Rush, though. If you're a Dittohead, you might not like it.

Here is another book you might enjoy along these lines...

Historians' Fallacies: Toward a Logic of Historical Thought.
by David Hackett Fischer

If you enjoy rhetoric and argument, this is a good book to add to your library. It ties in with the web site provided above.

Here is a link to it at Amazon with some good reviews of the book:

Here is a link for the Perkins book:

Stuff like this is great for arguing with people on the internet, as Paul pointed out. Learning the fallacies also helps us catch our own mistakes and helps keep ourselves honest.
