Hello all, my name is Jarrod. I decided to start an account on here after occasionally checking it out for a few years now. I have a varied background in both training and experience. I started training in Danzan Ryu Jujitsu, Tao Ryu Jujitsu, Geron Bahala na Escrima and Improvised Weapons in 2006. I took up Lerdrit, Muay Chao Chur, Boar Bando, Bare Knuckle Boxing, Simultaneous Close Quarter Combat and Combat Knife Fighting in 2008. I also trained in Shoshin Ryu Jujitsu for about 6 months. As far as experience goes I worked as a bouncer for about 4 years, worked as a security officer for about 2 years, and worked in executive protection for 5 years. Now I am getting into information security; for two reasons mostly. 1 because it is becoming more and more important everyday, and 2 because I recently lost hearing in my right ear; not being able to hear in one ear can be costly in the physical security realm. I also have a bachelors in security management, and I am working on my masters in information security. I hope I can make some good contributions to the group. Thank you for reading.

Welcome to MT, Jarrod. I'm interested in hearing about your jujutsu experiences. Are they geared towards sport or self-defense?

All of jujitsu experience is self-defense/combat oriented. Danzan Ryu and Shoshin Ryu are both self-defense systems, Tao Ryu is an officers combat.
