Help settle an argument

Everybody has rhythm, whether conscious of it or not. Watch boxers, mma matches, Taekwondo matches, whatever; the fighters are in constant motion and they move with certain timing. There are points in that rhythmic cycle that are easier to attack/defend from than others. Learning to vary or interrupt your own rhythm is good defense. Learning to attack against your opponent's rhythm is a useful skill.

Likewise, learning how to interrupt/change your rhythm is a useful skill; it makes you much harder to read and anticipate.
