Some of you may already know about this site. It's been around for a while. I've seen it before but only recently joined a group in my area.

Freecycle is yahoo groups by geographic location where people can post items to GIVE away. Everything must be free. The premise is to keep unwanted items from heading to the landfill, thus, good for the environment. If there is a specific item you're looking for, you can post that too, they only ask that you don't register for a bunch of *I wants* and that before posting a "wanted" you post at least one offer first. However, you can respond to an offer if you haven't posted one yourself yet.

It's a great site that I thought I'd share.

I've used Freecycle in my area too - it's a great way to pass on gently used furniture (which is what I did) to people who need it. I've also passed on clothing, housewares, and pet supplies, and received craft supplies.
