TM-Philip Gelinas oftenly I called him Phil an abbreviation of the Philippines can be easily remembered in many arenas of competitions but his excellence is an ancient art of the modern times in the living past full contact weaponry that made him to love the true Pilipino culture -Pekiti-Tirsia Kali. He stands as the living legend among the many who fought at the Grand Opry ( Country Music Hall of Fame)in Nashville Tennessee in 1988 full contact stick fighting. Stood as the GRANDCHAMPION.
What made Phil to win it is because his heart is pure determined to fight with the art of common sense living in the Philosophy of success with no failures. His pioneering days in the early 70's and the 80's coming to New York City regardless of weather conditions was a great sacrifice learning directly to the original fighting system that until today he holds dear and precious as others can be second to none.His winning luck in all he does is his perserverance to do to accomplish what ever it takes, time and efforts.
Canada he represents ( North America) Phil as a Martial Artist and as a Gentleman is one of the best example how hard struggle and how success goes together . All of these his power is taken from the all out support of his wife who stood behind him rain or shine. His title as a Tuhon Mandala was earned not by politics not by money but he worked for it for nearly 21 years of snow roadway from Montreal to the USA learning to the best of his ability what his bloodline motivated him to be one of the best in the true sense of Martial Arts. Learning with Phil is just like you are in the Philippines it is just adding PINES to his name and you are in the 7,100 Islands.Be with him in Canada and in the US but most of all he will bring you to end of the earth passing through the Philippines.
