Real fights are ugly. And in a real confrontation you don't rise to the occasion, you usually fall pretty close to the basics of your training. That being said I don't want students to just fall to the "cave man" mentality. Because from what I've experienced a good technical fighter will usually beat the "cave man". What concerns me is that too often I see students throw out the "basics" or "fundamentals" and revert to just "undisciplined brawling" or that kind of thing. Which can work, but if the guy you're fighting is good, it usually isn't enough. What I'm saying is I don't want "CONTACT TIME" to breed bad habits. So how often is good. Or how often is too often
