Excellent example of the Fighting Mindset

Situation: The criminal emptied a .38 into you, leaving your gun arm paralyzed and your other hand torn apart--and now, he's reaching for a machine gun.

This account of the Marcus Young incident was originally written by Massad Ayoob for an issue of American Handgunner in 2004. Officer Young serves as an incredible example of the "never say die" attitude.

Some lessons we can take away from this:

-Nothing is certain, both the officer and the perpetrator were shot in the head at close range (Young was hit by a .38, the BG with a bullet from Young's .40) with very little effect.

-Mr. Murphy (as in Murphy's law) is a SOB! Cars can not be counted on for cover unless YOU are the one trying to shoot through the car (in which case your bullets will not penetrate).

-The WILL to prevail cannot be underestimated
