Joe, sorry to hear of your run in with your old instructor!

I think what tshadowchase recommended is a good idea, just thank him for everything he has given to you, be the bigger man.

Your friend obviously has some issue's that he may need to deal with in his own time, but don’t be surprised if your path's cross again in the future!

Remember that he gave you what you have learned over the years and no matter what happens no-person wife or man can ever take away what you once had and time will always heal old wounds... maybe in time you can find out the truth and heal those wounds. Take the good and enjoy those times as for the rest, well try to see the best of the worst... GOD BLESS
