Nicholson ran away with the officer in pursuit, who appealed to the public for help. Jason, a supervisor putting in Main St's new lights who did not want his last name published, answered the call using his knowledge of aikido, a martial art.
"I went over and tackled him and put him in an arm bar," Jason said.
