Here I explain some of the parallels I have seen so far in 52 Blocks and Wing Chun.
OOC where did you learn 52 blocks? It has always piqued my interest and some of the history of it, I have to call BS on it (from certain people). From others, the history of it sounds more plausible. That being, it was boxing based on some kung fu and other MA that was incorporated by people.
That being said, I think that most arts that can trace back to southern China are going to have a lot of overlaps with techniques and ideas. It is still interesting to see their unique expressions and how to get to those places though.
So far I've only learned 52 Blocks from Lyte Burly's videos...both on-line and his DVDs. I'm hoping to make a trip to visit and train with him this summer.
52 definitely seems to line right up with mainland flavor WC. Hopefully you get to train with Lyte soon!
