Because He lives...

Jesus came to us at a time in history when there was no technology for communicating with others as we have today: there were no phones, no printing presses, no radios, no television, no internet. Jesus came to us at a time in history when there were no trains, planes, or automobiles. If you traveled you did it on foot, by boat, or by animal. Yet the message he was sent to deliver to us has transcended the limitations of both time and distance - reaching up through generations into the farthest corners of the world. Jesus has touched the lives of so many people that in John 21:25 of the Bible it's recorded, "And there are also many other things that Jesus did, which if they were written one by one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that would be written. Amen."

What makes this message so powerful - so profound of an impact on people's lives - that after accepting it, they feel it must be shared with others?

It's because Jesus Himself is the message. God sent His message of love for us into the world through His Son Jesus Christ. He literally gave us His Word in blood that He loves us - divinity became clothed in humanity. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men." ~ John 1:1-4 (NKJV) "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." ~ John 1:14 (NKJV)

True God and true man is brought together in the person of Jesus Christ. A blessed virgin gave birth to a Son which was conceived in her by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:18-25). But humanity, corrupted and hardened by sin, had killed the Messiah. The Son of God was crucified, died and was buried. "And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." ~ John 1:5 (NKJV) "But God raised Him from the dead." ~ Acts 13:30 (NKJV) And later after being resurrected, He ascended to His Father in heaven (Acts 1:9-11 NKJV). For all who repent of their sins and believe in the one God sent for our salvation, their sins have died with Jesus on the day He was crucified. As Jesus was resurrected from the dead, so shall all who have placed their faith in Him be born again. And since He has ascended back into His eternal glory; so shall all who have believed that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, receive the gift of eternal life.

"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only that, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation." ~ Romans 5:8-11 (NKJV)

God has given us a message to receive and to share - a testimony of His love and willingness to forgive us. He offers us a way to eternal life. "And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life." ~ 1 John 5:11-12 (NKJV)

The reason that the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ continues to live on is because He lives.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." ~ John 3:16 (NKJV)
