Here is the treasure trove of old video gaming goodness:

http://www.pyramid-games.com/freeware.html

It has all the Sonic the Hedgehog games, the Legend of Zelda, Street Fighter 2, Mortal Combat 1,2,3, Spiderman, 2 X-Men Games, Double Dragon 3, Contra (there's my childhood right there), BATTLETOADS!, Robobcop vs. Terminator, Earthworm Jim, Beavis and Butthead, Dragon the Bruce Lee Story, Hook, Inidiana Jones, Micheal Jackson's Moonwalker, Mickey Mouse, Boogerman, Batman, the Simpsons, Altered Beast, Dune 2, Ghostbusters, Ninja Turtles, Scooby Doo, and lots more.

All are free downloads. They all seem to be 8 and 16 bit games from the early 90's, back when games were concered about fun and not realism.

While you are at, that one has a lot of Mario games, Garfield, more Zelda games, and a whole bunch of RPG games.

Children of the 90's rejoice!

I dunno, mebbe I'm missing something. I've clicked to download a couple of games I used to spend hundreds of quarters on (over the years) and all I get are the intro screens and nothing else... no "click here to play" and so on.

Uhh, I must've not done something...

Which ones did you click on?
Today I have downloaded BattleToads, Road Rash, Theme Park Builder, and Sonic and they worked fine (all of those are from the top link).

I will give you a walk through on how I downloaded one of the:

http://www.pyramid-games.com/freeware.html

Go there and click on the words "Read More" next to the game you like. We will use "Altered Beast" for an example.

A new screen will pop up with the intro screen and a desciption. Under the description, you will see dark red letters that say "Download Altered Beast [0.7 MB] "

Click there and click on "save."

It will tell you what to do from there.
