San Jose was drama free this afternoon during the Strikeforce: Evolution weigh-in at the downtown Marriott. All eight fighters made weight. Mo Lawal and Mike Whitehead was the one fight with some intrigue. Lawal accepted the fight at heavyweight despite maxing out at 218.5 pounds. He'll be facing a legit big boy in Whitehead, who holds a 43 pound edge, at 261.5.

Cung Le, off for nearly 18 month making movies, looked trim coming in under the middleweight limit of 185 pounds. The fight with the biggest implications is the Strikeforce lightweight title fight between champ Josh Thomson and interim-champ Gilbert Melendez. Thomson won the title back in March of 2008 and has been unable to defend in a rematch for all of 2009 because of an ankle injury. Because California doesn't allow multiple attempts on the scale, both fighter removed their shorts to ensure they made the weight.

Guest fighters at the weigh-in included Jon Fitch, Jason Miller, Dan Henderson, Brian Foster, Robbie Lawler and NFL legend Herschel Walker.
