Talk about personal responsibility! I think this is really inspiring.

The board voted to give Novotney the same compensation package as former Superintendent Maureen Casey.
Novotney said he talked with board chairman Jack Stoops late Tuesday about negotiating a lesser contract.
"I think it is ethically the right thing to do given our agency's current financial situation," Novotney said Wednesday.
Casey was put on paid leave June 25 and fired last month after an investigation showed she misused grant funds, illegally transferred money among accounts, secretly held funds meant for special-education services and bullied employees. Board members say Casey drove the agency to the brink of bankruptcy.
Under his new contract, Novotney will receive:
-An annual pay rate of $133,193, the same as Casey and up from his current $115,460. The new rate took effect Tuesday.

Way to set an example for the kids in his school district.
