This is a very dynamic form of martial art from southern India, specifically
Kerela. I was there last January and had the opportunity to not only
witness a demonstration but to also do some training. They use alot of
weapons and there are hand strikes, extensive kicking techniques and
trapping and joint locking techniques as well. It is truly a beautitul art to
watch and practice. Reminds me very much of the Northern Shaolin
systems in many ways. However, there are not alot of teachers
outside of Kerela, India. Here is one link located in the UK www.ex.ac.uk/drama/staff/kalari/welcome.html !
If you search the web you will find many more but most are located in Kerela. If you are seriously interested in studying in India let me know and I can direct you to some very reputable instructors.
