Pekiti Tirsia practitioners from Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver congregated in Los Angeles, California for the Spring Dog Brothers Tribal Gathering Of The Pack, April 24 & 25, 2010.
DBMA uses minimal protective equipment (fencing headgear, light gloves) and unpadded rattan sticks to fight with as well as having access to any fighting techniques normally considered "empty hand" such as striking or grappling.
Tuhon Mandala Philip "Sled Dog" Gelinas from Montreal was joined by Mandatus Mandala Loki "Tricky Dog" Jorgenson from Vancouver along with five other student/DBMA practitioners.
They all fought many times over a two day period and all represented themselves well. As always the combat and not the results are important in DBMA.
The full list of the other Canadians who participated is, Jeremy Charles (Mtl), Tyler Morin (To), Chris Goard (Van),Patrick Gagnon (Van), Oli Frederickson (Nanaimo, BC). All moved up a notch in their quest for full DB status.
