Hey, Guys! I trust everyone is having a good Holiday!

I just went to dust off my laptop so I can load my new Quickbooks 03 contractor software (X-Mas present). However, I appear to be having some technical problems with the darn thing!

Here's the system description:

COMPAQ Armada 7400
Intel Pentium II (Not sure of the speed)
128 MB RAM
10 GB HD

Windows 98 Second Edition 4.10.2222 a

When I boot up, I get a mesage that the Card Bus controller can't be found. SO, now both my modem card AND my NIC card won't connect to the internet!

I'd like to get this straightened out BEFORE I put anything new on!

The laptops swapable drive has only a cd-dvd rom drive. No floppy, etc.

Any more info needed or ??????

Thanks in advance for ANY replies!

Regards,

Andy

My Experience from Compaq at work and laptops includsing the 7400 and Windows 98, you will need Compaq Specific drivers. Oh yeah and these drivers can get 'damaged' or lost by other programs. Not sure which ones, though. Do you have another computer attached to the interenet. I would go search teh Compaq site for drives addressing your issues, and if necessary burn a cd with them to get them into you laptop. Also check e-bay for a floppy, they should be available as people from certain companies will be selling them after they are retired from service with the large companies.

Not a straight forward answer, sorry
