In the past few weeks, Bellator has put together what can only be described as a kickbutt welterweight tournaments. With their season starting in April and airing on Fox Sports, they've locked down some of the most exciting up-and-comers in MMA.

Ben Askren: An Olympian and a two-time Division I wrestling national champion for the University of Missouri, Askren has three MMA wins, all first-round stoppages.

Dan Hornbuckle: You may remember Hornbuckle from Sengoku, where he won his last two fights, a highlight reel headkick KO of Akihiro Gono and a TKO of Nick Thompson.

Jacob McClintock: Training at Arizona Combat Sports with Jamie Varner, Ryan Bader and Carlos Condit, McClintock has put together six wins, all first-round stoppages. His teammates nicknamed him "Tick-Tock," because it was just a matter of time until he wins his fights.

Jim Wallhead: British fighter Wallhead is a judo blackbelt and a rising star in Europe. He is on a six-fight winning streak, and is dangerous at finishing fights both through KOs and submissions.

These four signings are a good balance of experienced fighters in Hornbuckle and Wallhead, and up-and-comers with unlimited potential in Askren and McClintock.

Earlier this year, the upstart promotion Bellator made waves in MMA by consistently delivering exciting fights. Though they only aired on ESPN Deportes, the Spanish-language arm of the Worldwide Leader, Bellator ensured that their fights reached a wider MMA audience via the internet. With these moves, they've ensured Bellator will still be the talk of MMA.
