Dan Henderson was officially introduced as a Strikeforce fighter today during a press conference in San Jose. Henderson said he was happy be free of the "b.s." of working for Dana White and the UFC. Now he can concentrate solely on fighting. It's all but a certainty that he'll be fighting Jake Shields for the Strikeforce middleweight title in April on CBS.

Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker was also present and hinted strongly at some future matchups. It looks like Melvin Manhoef will make his promotion debut on Jan. 30 in Sunrise, Fla. Coker also mentioned that he's headed to Japan to take in Dynamite! 2009. He's hoping to return to the U.S. with Shinya Aoki's name on a contract for a fight on that April CBS card that looks more and more like it may feature both Fedor Emelianenko and Gegard Mousasi as well. His desired matchup for Aoki is against the winner of tonight's Strikeforce lightweight title fight between Josh Thomson and Gilbert Melendez.

Coker also laid out a tenative plan for DREAM-signee Marius Zaromskis. He'd like to have Zaromskis fight Nick Diaz possibly on the Jan. 30 card in South Florida. He also mentioned Jay Hieron against Jor Riggs as a possibility on the same card.
