I don't know about my real sparring skills, as a geeky engineer type, I've generally been better at the mental than the physical. So I'm REALLY good at escaping a bad situation before I have to throw a punch

I may be wrong but I do feel strongly about karate as being more than just something for kids and point scoring sparring type stuff. I don't want to see it go down the route of just being seen as Olympic 'stuff', I want people to see it's more than that, there's proper kumite, Bunkai and SD. If someone seems to me to be belittling a style, any style, I regard it as wrong and they should be challenged. It's not my 'internet persona' it's me lol.

I trained under Sr. who is now retired. Jr. is my sensei advisor and when I get to that part of the country I try to train with his classes. I've met Olivia. She is impressive.

He set up a great organization! I only was directly taught by him a few times but he was integral to my growth in my teens and early 20s.
