White House almost steps in it

Every year the White House has been decorated for Christmas and in some years the First Lady has even given tours to various tv news organizations. But I`m guessing that won`t happen this year.

As much as I want to take FOX seriously for the sake of being neutral, their only proof is a newspaper allegation that half a year ago, a social secretary is supposed to have said that there would be no Christmas display.

How many levels of hearsy are generally acceptable?
1) it comes from a newspaper.
2) there is no proof that the secretary said it.
3) even if she said it, that doesn't mean that the Obamas suggested it.
