    I came across this and thought that those who have never seen Traditional Okinawan Karate might find it interesting. This is a relatively long video, 44 minutes, but gives a good insight into the principles involved in traditional training.

    Great video, thanks for posting.

    Many may say that it's not practical to train like this in this day and age. To this I say "start with the mental aspect" and see where that takes you.

    The interesting part is that Nicholas Pettas was a full contact karate champion who had no time for the traditional training. Not only did he change his position on traditional karate but also experienced aikido for himself and realised that it too was something special and nothing like he perceived it to be. Perhaps it's a lesson we all could learn from.

    I don't have the luxury or the unprovoked demeanor to answer as bluntly. But I will add with all candor, early 60s we took NO prisoners. :)
