Seeing Parker this afternoon.
Great day at TKD!! Black Belt Practice and Open Rank practice
AND helped out at the (White, Yellow, Orange) test - my little buddy Henry has officially earned his yellow belt!!!
Just found out that one of my students is moving with her mother to Japan while her American father stays here. In March.
I'm a bit depressed about this.
Opportunities for her to succeed in martial arts in traditional Japan will not be easy. To see the family split will also be painful but life goes on.
We are renegade Hwarang, so ... if anyone knows someone in Japan ...
Wish I did no someone in Japan that could help but, sorry, I do not.
Sorry to hear about the family split.
Why will it be hard for her to get into a school in Traditional Japan?
And on a better note CONGRATULATIONS on getting hired
Good class today. Sue had her 2nd geup exam.
Very sorry to hear this. It is so easy to take this onto yourself because of the sensei sudent relationship.
I like your quote, "He who angers you conquers you" ... man that is true!
Baked ziti for dinner. Winning!
brief break for the homework...ok, now back to it.....
I thought HwaRang was Korean....
Taking a break. Teaching Sue Palgwe Pal Jang.
Maybe it's time to eat...
Just finished grading HW.
Today was the Polar Plunge in Virginia Beach. We (meaning ALL of us who plunged) raised $1, 250,000!
And, starting this month, I'm back to private TKD lessons!
....good morning MT friends...
Maybe a movie and dinner today--not much on the Super Bowl.
:tantrum: Enough of this damn injury stuff
I cant TAKE it anymore.
I must go train NOW!!!!! :ticked:
I am going to my basement to train
so QUIT bothering me  :uhyeah:
Leaving soon for Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters!
It is. Is there a second part to this question?
It seems the patriarchal society is still alive and kicking, so to speak, in Japan. Her mother informed me that judo is a middle-school sport that all *male* students learn in P.E. class. Girls not allowed. I was surprised at this given a few high-ranking females in the Kodokan.
Apparently it's still rare (?) for females to learn martial arts in Japan. I can't anticipate her happiness.123
