Hey tradrockrat wow what a cool ID you have and maybe if you get to reading this you will share with me where it comes from... but yes I am glad you are down with Love and Rockets also and thank youfor this lyric which again I will admit to not knowing but I am always appreciative of a lyric which takes time to tell a story and this is super.. but I will give you something again right outta nowhere because you mentioned Mozart and yes I will certainly spin up a little Rondo Alla Turca but lyrically I am not a fan of his opera but here is imNsvho one of THE most powerful choral pieces ever written and I am certain you will know O Fortuna from Carmina Burana and has been used everywhere from films to advertisements but lyrically impressive too. I hope you like...tradrockrat said:jeez o jeez... I could never name them all - my tastes run from mozart to Metallica and everything in between and part of the reason is lyrics. If they speak to me at all, I'm hooked.
For instance, I obviously dig Bob Segar, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, and all of the poets, but htis thread has been a trip down love and rockets memory lane! Daniel Ash ROCKS. so does Ian Ashbury...

he said i don't have any further use for these

O Fortuna!
O Fortuna, velut Luna statu variabilis,
semper crescis aut decrescis;
vita detestabilis nunc obdurat et tunc curat ludo mentis aciem;
egestatem, potestatem, dissolvit ut glaciem.
Sors immanis et inanis, rota tu volubilis, status malus, vana salus semper dissolubilis;
obumbrata et velata mihi quoque niteris; nunc per ludum dorsum nudum fero tui sceleris.
ooooh - here is the big mad LOUD bit!!! ahem... sorry
Sors salutis et virtutis mihi nunc contraria;
est affectus et defectus semper in angaria.
hac in hora sine mora cordae pulsum tangite!
quod per sortem sternit fortem, mecum omnes plangite!

O Fortune.. like the moon in its forever changing states you are always waxing or waning; hateful life is now cruel; now pampers our feelings with its game; poverty, power: it melts them like ice.
Fate: savage and hollow.. you are a turning wheel... your position is uncertain your favour is fickle and always inclined to disappear! covered in shadows and in veils you bear upon ME too; now my back is exposed through the sport of your spitefulness.
The chance of prosperity and of virtue is NOT now mine; whether or not he is willing a man is always liable for the service of Fortune. At this hour without delay touch the strings! Because through luck she lays low the brave all enjoin me in my lamentation!
wow! Is that COOL or what
Yr most obdt hmble srvt,
Jenna
