Saw Taekwondo instep protectors in BJJ the other day

One of the women who had just started BJJ at my gym was wearing TKD instep protectors in class. She had mat burns on her foot, and that was her solution.

I thought it was a good idea. I don't know how well the upper belts thought of it.

For reference, these are the types of shoes I'm talking about (although hers were all black).

They aren't very thick, so it's not like they're in the way.

Back when I was doing bjj regularly, I wore what were called grappling shoes. No one had an issue with it, and it let me go more often, without having to give my feet time to heal.
