Pendekar Paul de Thouars, known as one of the most influential pioneers of Silat in the United States and teacher of, amongst others, famous teachers like Dan Inosanto, Burton Richardson, Cliff Stewart and Stevan Plinck, passed away on September 11th, recently. As the creator of Pukulan Pentjak Silat Bukti Negara he has created a system which shows students the depth and uniqueness of indonesian martial arts. As a teacher and human being he will be sorely missed. Always willing to educate people, with plenty of jokes in between, but always honest about his knowledge and also limitations.
